Screen incompatible!

I am unable to play this game with any of the available screen resolutions. The game starts off screen and freezes after the initial developer credit appears. I really hoped to play this game, but I wasted this investment. Please fix this issue!

I use a retina MBP. Maybe this is why. This may be a case of incompatibility with my screen, but I presume this would work for other Macs as per the reviews here.
